The Summit Typhon

The Summit.

The Summit, also known as the Olympus Summit, is the highest peak of Mount Olympus and the location of the Palace of Zeus - and unfortunately for Zeus, the target of Typhon, freed by Chronos to harry the Olympians while he conquers the Underworld. When Melinoë arrives, the summit is beset by a mighty storm conjured by the Father of Monsters and is infested with his bizarre spawn released as he climbs the summit himself, searching for his archenemy. Even as she climbs, his Tails will seek her out to remove the obstacle to his revenge upon all of existence.

The Summit is the final region of the Surface Path.

Book of Shadows Entry[]

'Upon the highest peak of the Olympians' mountain stands a proud fortress concealing their seat of power. This line of defense was probably devised the first time the gods were almost overthrown, long before your time.
Now the fortress threatens to collapse, as it perhaps was always meant to do. And what of your family's pride? Surely that has also suffered heavy damage.

Description, Society and Culture[]

  • The Summit is the highest peak of Mount Olympus in Hades II, serving as the final region of the Surface Path. It is the location of the Palace of Zeus, but when Melinoë arrives, it is under siege by Typhon, the Father of Monsters, who was freed by Chronos to weaken the Olympians. The area is engulfed in a mighty storm, with Typhon’s bizarre spawn roaming the battlefield.
  • The Summit was originally a fortress of the Olympians, designed as a last line of defense against potential threats. However, with Typhon’s invasion, the once-proud stronghold is now on the verge of collapse, mirroring the damage to the gods’ pride and power. The Book of Shadows describes it as a place that was always meant to fall, hinting at the cyclical nature of divine struggles.
  • The culture of The Summit reflects its role in the war against Chronos. The Olympians are divided—some actively fight, while others remain distant. Hermes appears in the final chamber, offering high-tier wares, similar to Charon’s shop in Tartarus. The architecture and terrain reinforce the chaos of battle, with exploding eggs and eye spike traps adding to the danger.

Layout[]

The Summit is comprised of 8 chambers: 5 for regular encounters, 2 for Warden encounters and the final chamber for the Hermes shop (similar to Charon's Shop in Tartarus) and Typhon. In this region, you will always be force to fight its Wardens during the run, the first being the Spawn of Typhon or the Twins of Typhon and the last one being the Tail of Typhon or the Eye of Typhon.

As of Early Access, the Surface Path ends when leaving Typhon's chamber as the next area (presumably the Palace of Zeus) has not been implemented.

Traps[]

  • Exploding Eggs: These Eggs will explode if Melinoë or an enemy goes near them, dealing damage They can also be triggered if hit by an attack. Melinoë suffers 26 damage per egg while Enemies suffer high damage from the explosion: 900-1000 damage.
  • Eye Spike: If Melinoë stands on top of the eye it will break and spike will burst through, dealing damage.
