ā€œ Lim and Oros, Sister Blades! We're fellow sisters now. ā€ž
~ Melinoƫ

The Sister Blades, Lim and Oros are Nocturnal Arms that can be unlocked at the Training Grounds with 1 Silver.

Book of Shadows entry[]

'...The sister blades, Lim and Oros were created for you; for us. We reap what we sow. Remember when you put them to use.'

Fighting style[]

A close-range weapon that deals rapid light strikes, quite similar to the Twin Fists of the previous game. Its Special has you throw a light dagger forward. Its Ī© Attack has you quickly teleport behind an enemy and strike them once, while Ī© Special charges a set of up to 5 daggers to throw in a spreadfire pattern (switched to a straight line with one Hammer upgrade). Compared to other Nocturnal Arms this weapon is quite capable of being used in a "low Magick" build that relies more on uncharged attacks, and not needing a high Magick regeneration which can allow you to focus your runs more on attributes like Health.

Related to a low Magick build: Boons that Prime a quantity of your max Magick do not need you to actually have that much capacity of Magick to function. The benefit from the Boon will always work no matter what; the reduction of max Magick is simply a side effect and you can Prime as much above your Magick capacity as you please. Primed flat-damage-on-strike effects like Static Shock from Zeus, Secret Crush from Aphrodite and various others work exceptionally well on the rapidly striking Sister Blades.

Statistics[]

Move Description Damage Notes
Attack Press Attack > Attack > Attack > Attack for combo.
20 - 20 - 10x5 - 80
Dash-Strike Press Attack quickly after Dashing.
45
The damage calculation for Dash-Strike is based on Attack.
Ī© Attack Channeled Attack, uses 10Magick.
100

  • Dashes behind a targeted enemy, potentially triggering a Backstab damage if applicable
  • Ī© Attack requires a prior use of Attack or Dash-Strike before it can be channeled, introducing a buffer that may interfere with effects consumed during the initial action—such as the Ripostle effect from Aspect of Artemis and Dionysus' Bottomless Drink.
Special Press Special to throw a knife that returns to you.
25x2

  • The knife pierces through enemies.
  • As it returns, the blade can hit behind a target, potentially triggering a Backstab if applicable.
    • The returning knife does not trigger on-hit effects if the initial hit has already activated them (e.g., Poseidon's Splash, Zeus' Static Shock), though they can still apply status curses.
Ī© Special Channel Special up to 15Magick to throw knives in a fan pattern, consuming 3Magick per knife.
25x5

  • The channeling starts with 1 knife at the center, then adds knives symmetrically to each side, forming a fan shape.
  • Knives pierce through enemies, except when using the Aspect of Pan's Homing Shots ability, which redirects them instead.

Auto-Fire Statistics[]

Move Combo Combo (if Magick is depleted) Notes
Attack Close-range: Attack > Attack > Attack > Attack (repeat)

Distant-range: Attack > Ī© Attack

Close-range: Attack > Attack > Attack > Attack (repeat)

Distant-range: Attack > Ī© Attack (cancelled)

  • While attacking, dash to perform a Dash-Strike and seamlessly continue the combo.
  • If no enemies are on screen, perform the Attack > Attack > Attack > Attack (repeat) combo.
  • If at least one enemy is on the screen, perform the Attack > Ī© Attack combo until the enemy is within detection range.
    • Even if Magick is depleted, continue attempting Ī© Attack in this condition, even if it fails. However, this will not cause a loop; once the combo is canceled, you will be able to move again.
Special Ī© Special > Ī© Special (repeat) Special > Special (repeat) Currently Bugged: If Magick is depleted and the combo switches to its alternate version, it may interfere with Born Gain and Mortal Gain. Since this combo does not include or attempt to use Ī© Moves, these boons may not activate as intended, preventing proper Magick regeneration.

Parry: Prevent damage from most types of direct attacks. Can be repeated after 15 Sec.
  • Parry negates all incoming damage, including fatal single-hit moves from Guardians, except in the following cases:
  • Parry can be activated by holding the Attack button even without sufficient Magick; however, doing so will not trigger the Ī© Attack.

Riposte: You are Impervious for 1 Sec. Your next 9 strikes have +50% Critical chance.

  • Riposte applies to all strikes, including multi-hit attacks. Each hit consumes 1 charge. For example:
    • Attack > Attack > Attack > Attack consumes 1 + 1 + 5 + 1 charges.
    • Ī© Special consumes up to 5 charges (8 charges with Hidden Knives Daedalus Hammer ), based on the number of knives thrown.
    • Special is a notable exception: it consumes only 1 charge total, even though its returning knife also benefits from Riposte.
  • Apollo's Extra Dose and Exceptional Talent synergize well with Riposte, as their additional hits benefit from the effect but do not consume extra charges.
  • The Riposte ability is affected by Hermes' Success Rate, increasing the chance to +65%/+70%/+75%/+80%

Both Parry and Riposte are reset upon entering a new location:

  • Parry is fully recharged.
  • Any remaining Riposte charges are removed.
However, in the Fields of Mourning, you can pre-activate both effects by interacting with a Bloat-Shade before the encounter officially begins—since the interaction counts as combat but not a full encounter.

Aspect of Pan
Your Specials seek foes in your Casts, and fire more shots if you Channel longer.

  • Homing shots from your Special still retain the return-to-MelinoĆ« property.
  • Homing shots from your Ī© Special do not pierce through enemies.
  • These homing shots will track enemies within your Casts regardless of distance—even if the shots themselves have already exited the encounter area.

Upgrades[]

Icon Name Description Notes
Sweeping Ambush Your Ī© Attack deals 400% damage in a wider area, but uses +20Magick.
  • Cannot be combined with Rapid Onslaught
Dancing Knives Your Specials deal +15% damage and each hit bounces toward up to 2 more foes.
  • Dancing Knives Daedalus Hammer causes your Special to no longer return to MelinoĆ« after being thrown.
  • The ricocheting blades from Dancing Knives Daedalus Hammer do not trigger on-hit effects if the initial hit has already activated them (e.g., Poseidon's Splash, Zeus' Static Shock, Icarus's Explosive Intent), though they can still apply status curses.
Sureshot Flurry Your Ī© Special fires each shot straight ahead and your Specials have +30% range.
Rapid Onslaught Your Attacks are 35% faster
  • Incompatible with Aspect of Artemis
  • Cannot be combined with Sweeping Ambush
  • Cannot be combined with Final Slice
  • Cannot be combined with Demeter's Weed Killer
Currently Bugged: Rapid Onslaught and Final Slice Daedalus Hammer can be used together if Rapid Onslaught is obtained first. However, if Final Slice is acquired first, Rapid Onslaught will be unavailable.
Melting Sickle Your Special destroys 50% of any Armor (based on the total).
Skulking Onslaught Your Attacks deal +150% damage striking foes from behind. The backstab bonus damage applies only to weapon damage. It does not increase damage from on-hit effects from boons or upgrades.
Reaper Knives Your Specials have +15 Power and deal damage in a wider area.
Hidden Knives Your Specials deal +20% damage and your Ī© Special fires +3 shots. The Hidden Knives upgrade does not increase the total channeling time of your Ī© Special, as channeling begins at 4 knives instead of the usual 1, then continues to charge as normal.
Final Slice The last strike in your Attack sequence deals +300% damage in a larger area. Currently Bugged: Rapid Onslaught and Final Slice Daedalus Hammer can be used together if Rapid Onslaught is obtained first. However, if Final Slice is acquired first, Rapid Onslaught will be unavailable.
Wicked Onslaught Your Attacks have +20 Power
Sudden Flurry You Channel your Ī© Special 40% faster.
Trick Knives Your Dash-Strike also fires your Special 3 times at once in a fan pattern.
  • Trick Knives synergizes well with The Huntress as both Dash-Strike and the three Special are eligible for its effect.
  • When using the Aspect of Pan, the three Specials fired by Trick Knives Daedalus Hammer are affected by its homing shot property and often deal backstab damage on return, as the knives tend to home in on enemies from the front.

Currently Bugged: The three Special projectiles fired during Dash-Strike by Trick Knives Daedalus Hammer are currently not affected by the Aspect of Artemis' Riposte effect. They do not benefit from increased Critical chance. Only the Dash-Strike itself is affected and consumes a single Riposte charge.

Trivia[]

  • In Greek mythology, Limos (literally "Famine, Hunger, Starvation") is the personification of famine or hunger. In ancient Greek, Oros means "mountain" or "hillā€. The word is thought to be related to the verb "órnumi" (ὄρνυμι), meaning ā€œto stir, rouse, excite, or awakenā€. These name choices could reflect how a sickle is used to reap grain and that the Sister Blades were the first weapons we saw MelinoĆ« use in the reveal trailer.
  • The Aspect of Pan is reminiscent of the Aspect of Chiron for the Heart-Seeking Bow in the first game. Interestingly enough, both Pan and Chiron are half-human half-animal mythological creatures, a satyr and a centaur respectively.
