Poseidon is the god of the sea. He offers boons to Zagreus that significantly increase the damage of his abilities, as well as cause his abilities to inflict Knockback.

Poseidon boons offers the 3rd highest raw percentage damage increase in Hades, as well as the ability to knock enemies around, dealing extra wall slam or trap damage.

Poseidon boons are among the only to offer Artifact currencies and increase their rate of acquisition. Only Dionysus shares this trait.

Poseidon's Cast boon, Flood Shot, is a frequent prerequisite for Duo Boons, making it a notable choice for those that are prioritizing their Cast.

His signature Status Curse is Ruptured, which rapidly deals damage to enemies as they move, dealing more damage the faster they move. Ruptured not only affects an enemy's movement, but also affects the movement from various other Knockback effects.

Affinity

If given Nectar, Poseidon will give you the Conch Shell.

Poseidon's affinity gauge is maxed out at 7 hearts.

Favor

Poseidon's favor requires using the Rod of Fishing and successfully fishing up a minimum of 18 fish, and having caught at least 1 fish for that run prior to encountering Poseidon.

Many of Poseidon's boons apply Knockback to your abilities. Knockback causes an ability to push an enemy an additional distance away from Zagreus, in the direction they were attacked from. Knockback effects can help enable environmental damage from Wall Slams and Traps. Knockback effects also combo well with Poseidon's Status Curse, Ruptured, which deals damage to enemies when they move. Area bosses have immunity against Knockback, but will be affected by Rupture damage.
