Minos was a game in early development by Supergiant Games before it was ultimately cancelled.

Development[]

Supergiant Games originally had a concept for a game called Minos, which was meant to follow Theseus as he attempted to escape a constantly shifting labyrinth.[1] This early version of the game was later reworked into Hades, with Zagreus as the protagonist instead.[1] The developers found that Theseus wasn't an engaging enough main character, so they pivoted to a fresh take on Greek mythology that focused on Zagreus' journey through the Underworld.[1]

Concept art also shows that Artemis would've had some role in the game presumably as an ally of Theseus. Notably this version of Artemis appears to be a Centaur.

Trivia[]

  • In addition to Minos, there's also been discussion about whether Minos, Rhadamanthus, and Aeacus—the judges of the Underworld—were overlooked by Hades.[2] Some fans speculate that their absence was a deliberate choice to streamline the game's narrative.[2]
