Lycaons are werewolf-like creatures that stalk the Fields of Mourning.
Lycaons can leap large distances onto foes. They land on all fours, their claws coming down in a heavy-hitting double swipe.
Occasionally Lycaons will howl to summon several minions known as Canines. These minions can also appear when Lycaons spawn into a zone.
Codex entry[]
'Beasts, with their keen senses and clarity of purpose, offer much for us to learn, as well as envy. Granted, if one were to confront the bestial monstrosities stalking through the tall brush of the Mourning Fields, one might reevaluate such an assertion. The idea that these come from a bloodline that the gods once cursed into this form is an insult to the wolves they crassly resemble, if not the gods as well.'
Trivia[]
- Their name and the Codex both reference Lycaon, a king of Arcadia who angered Zeus for trying to trick the god into eating human flesh. Zeus turned Lycaon into a wolf as punishment.
- The Codex seems to imply that Lycaons are descendants of their namesake.
