Keepsakes are items that can be equipped to obtain some sort of benefit during a run. They are acquired by giving Nectar to various characters for the first time. A keepsake can be equipped in the display case in the Training Grounds before a run.
Things to note about using Keepsakes:
- Once a keepsake has been equipped and Melinoƫ has left the Crossroads, the keepsake cannot be swapped out for a different one except between regions.
- Access to a keepsake display case between regions is unlocked with the Kindred Keepsakes Incantation.
- Caution: Closing the keepsake display after changing keepsakes will lock the display from being accessed again until the next post-Guardian room.
- If you switch out of a keepsake mid-run, you cannot switch back to it for the rest of the run.
- Keepsakes automatically rank up when enough encounters are cleared while the keepsake is equipped which upgrades a keepsake's effect to Rare and Epic.
- Rank 2: 25 encounters
- Rank 3: 50 encounters
- These are halved by the Quickening of Sentimental Value Incantation:
- Rank 2: 13 encounters
- Rank 3: 25 encounters
- The Heroic rank of a Keepsake is only achievable by having the
Cherished Heirloom duo boon from Demeter & Hera.

Keepsakes From Olympians[]
All of the Olympian Keepsakes (except the ones from Artemis, Athena, Dionysus and Hermes) have the same function:
A Boon of (God Name) is likely. You can Rarify his/her Common/Rare/Epic blessings once this night.
---
-
Cloud Bangle
From Zeus -
Iridescent Fan
From Hera -
Vivid Sea
From Poseidon -
Barley Sheaf
From Demeter -
Harmonic Photon
From Apollo -
Beautiful Mirror
From Aphrodite -
Adamant Shard
From Hephaestus -
Everlasting Ember
From Hestia -
Sword Hilt
From Ares
Additional Notes[]
- The "A Boon of (God Name) is likely" effect of Olympian Keepsakes refers to boon prioritization: when a location reward is a Boon (excluding Boons from Hermes and Chaos), it is guaranteed to match the god associated with the equipped Keepsake.
- When this effect occurs, there is a visual indicator (the name of the Keepsake pops up above Melinoƫ). Notably, this effect repeats if the first presented Boon is not taken (assuming the relevant Keepsake remains equipped), as evidenced by the visual indicator repeating each time the effect occurs.
- Boon prioritization may also occur when using
Change of Fate on a Major Find location, as the reward may randomly change to a Boon. - Boon prioritization does not applyāunless the eligible Olympian pool has reached four or more godsāto the following:
Boons and
Mystery Boons sold in Charon's Shop
Boons upgraded from Minor Finds via The Artificer
Mystery Boons sold in the Shrine of Hermes
Mystery Boons granted by Narcissus through Mixed Blessings
Boons offered from Family Dispute
- The "A Boon of (God Name) is likely" label can be misleading, as it does not increase the general chance of receiving Boons from the associated godāit only affects prioritization when a Boon is already the reward.
- At Rank 1, these keepsakes can only be used with Common Boons; at Rank 2, it can be used with Common OR Rare Boons, and so on.
- Rarifying will increase rarity by 1. For example, a Boon that started out Rare will become Epic, a Boon that started out Epic will become Heroic, etc.
- The
Cherished Heirloom Duo Boon does not typically interact with Olympian Keepsakes in the usual way. Instead of upgrading Keepsakes's rarity directly, it offers an extra Rarify option, but only if the Rarify option has been used beforehand.
- The effect applies only to the current Olympian Keepsake and does not extend to new Olympian Keepsakes if you switch in the next region.
- If the extra Rarify option is not used, it will not carry over to another Olympian Keepsake after switching in a new region.
Fates' Whim[]
The keepsakes from Hades & Persephone, Zagreus and Chronos have the Fates' Whim mechanic, which reads as follows:
This night, you have had 0
---
This introduces a few gameplay stipulations, when such a keepsake is equipped:
- The selected keepsake effects will not activate until any Arcana Cards that reference
are unequipped. - All Fates' Whim keepsakes' effects persist after unequipping them, until the effect is used up.
- Equipping an Olympian keepsake that can cause that Olympian's boons to be gained will immediately disable any remaining uses of the Fates' Whim keepsakes, and will not allow any of those keepsakes to be selected for the rest of the night.
- While the Fates' Whim mechanic is active, the Judgement Arcana, the Crystal Figurine keepsake and Red Citrine Divination from Circe will not activate the Enchantress, Fates and Champions Arcana Cards, since they pertain to
and are therefore incompatible.
Trivia[]
- The Luckier Tooth keepsake is a reference to the Lucky Tooth from the first game. Since this one is Luckier, it gives 1 more Life when you die.
- The Calling Card is the only keepsake that is not obtained by offering
Nectar. Instead, it will be granted after defeating Zagreus in the Contest of Champions twice. - Nyx can be offered
Nectar and will reference the Nocturnal Arms as the "keepsake" she is granting Melinoƫ in exchange for the offering. - Similarly to the first game, these keepsakes also have references to Greek myth:
- Silver Wheel - a wheel symbol that's associated with Hecate.
- Engraved Pin - references Moros' role alongside the Fates.
- Metallic Droplet - the substance inside the vial is probably Mercury, which is Hermes' Roman counterpart.
- White Antler - a reference to Artemis' sacred animal, the deer.
- Iridescent Fan - possibly a reference to the rainbow goddess Iris, who was a messenger of Hera, while also a reference to peacocks, Hera's sacred animal.
- Adamant Shard - in myth, adamant is a powerful metal used by the gods, Hephaestus himself using it at one point.
- Lion Fang - a nod to the Nemean Lion which Heracles slew.
- Blackened Fleece - an opposite to the Golden Fleece, which is an item reference connected to Medea.
- Crystal Figurine - resembles a pig, which Circe is known to turn tresspassers into.
- Gorgon Amulet - a reference to the Medusa myth in which Athena is involved.
- Fig Leaf - the fig tree is associated with Dionysus.
- Jeweled Pom - Is a reference to both Hades sometimes being seen as the god of riches and the pomegranates connection to Persephone.
- Time Piece . is a combination of a modern watch and an sun watch, the latter of which was used at ancient times
- Some keepsakes have been nicknamed by the community:
- Metallic Droplet - Mercury, for the same reason as described in the above Greek myth reference.
- White Antler - Wantler, a portmonteau/contraction of its own name.
- Jeweled Pom - Dadpom, a reference to the Pom Blossom keepsake from the original Hades, which was known as Mompom.
- Time Piece - Chrolex, a portmonteau of Chronos and Rolex, a luxury watch brand.
