Keepsakes are items that can be equipped to obtain some sort of benefit during a run. They are acquired by giving Nectar to various characters for the first time. Zagreus can equip Keepsakes from the display case in the Courtyard.

Things to note about using Keepsakes:

Once a keepsake has been equipped and Zagreus has left the House of Hades, the keepsake cannot be swapped out for a different one except between regions.
- Access to a keepsake display case between regions is unlocked by completing the Keepsakes Collection, Regional upgrade from the House Contractor for 10 .
- Caution: Closing the keepsake display after changing keepsakes will lock the display from being accessed again until the next post-boss room.

If you switch out of a keepsake mid-run, you cannot switch back to it for the rest of the run.

Keepsakes automatically rank up when enough encounters are cleared while the keepsake is equipped.

List of keepsakes[]

A keepsake can be equipped in the display case in the courtyard before a run. Access to a keepsake display case between regions can be purchased from the House Contractor.

Forging a bond will show up in the keepsake display case with a small icon and a message about the bond Zagreus and the character share.

Companions[]

Some characters give you Companions (also known as Legendary Keepsakes). They are acquired by giving Ambrosia to that character after completing a quest for them.

Wearing the Myrmidon Bracer while talking to Patroclus will unlock unique dialogue between Patroclus, Achilles, and Zagreus.
Black Shawl	Deal 10/15/20% damage striking undamaged foes; also striking foes from behind.	From Nyx; you share an Eternal Bond. Through sense of duty, she raised you. From the dark of her heart, she loves you.
Pierced Butterfly	Gain +1/1.5/2% damage for each Encounter you clear without taking damage.	From Thanatos; you share an Undying Bond. With whom should Death belong, if not with Blood, with Life?	Infernal Trove fights do not give credit. The only Temple of Styx rooms that give credit are the final Encounter of a Satyr Tunnel. Losing life to a curse of Chaos does not affect this keepsake. The additional damage will be lost if the Pierced Butterfly is unequipped
Bone Hourglass	Items from the Well of Charon have durations increased by +4/6/8 Encounters.	From Charon; you share an Unspoken Bond. Only a scant few souls ever earn the favor of the feared boatman.	Unequipping the Bone Hourglass does not remove the extended duration on items already purchased.
Chthonic Coin Purse	Receive 100/125/150 to spend as you please (once per escape attempt).	From Hypnos; you share a Dreamlike Bond. His wakeful cheer is genuine, whenever you are there. He dreams, until such time.	The Chthonic Coin Purse can be safely removed with no gold penalty. Boons that increase the amount of gold Zagreus receives do not affect this keepsake.
Skull Earring	Deal 20/30/40% more damage while at 35% or less.	From Megaera; you share an Intense Bond. Your deaths at one another's hands... All your pleasure, all your pain, united.
Distant Memory	Deal 10/20/30% more damage to distant foes (at least 500 units away).	From Orpheus; you share a Sonorous Bond. Inspiration comes from unlikely places. Friendship comes in unlikely forms.
Harpy Feather Duster	Broken urns have a 3/5/6% chance to contain healing items.	From Dusa; you share an Immaculate Bond. She lifts you up without effort. You give her courage to fly.
Lucky Tooth	Automatically restore up to 50/75/100 when your Life Total is depleted (once per escape attempt).	From Skelly; you share an Unbreakable Bond. A true and loyal friend shall always stand up for you. Even stand up to you.	The resurrection effect from Lucky Tooth will be consumed after all Death Defiance effects have been exhausted. Lucky Tooth essentially functions as a bonus Death Defiance: Stubborn Roots will not regenerate health while the player still has the extra life given by Lucky Tooth. The Kiss of Styx offered by Patroclus in Elysium will recharge a spent Lucky Tooth with a regular Death Defiance charge
Thunder Signet	See Keepsakes from Olympians	From Zeus; you share a Thunderous Bond. Many beg favors of the King of Olympus. Few earn them with his compliments.
Conch Shell	See Keepsakes from Olympians	From Poseidon; you share an Unshakable Bond. He would turn the very tides and sunder the earth for you.
Owl Pendant	See Keepsakes from Olympians	From Athena; you share a Knowing Bond. She anticipated almost every detail, save for the kinship she would feel.
Eternal Rose	See Keepsakes from Olympians	From Aphrodite; you share a Beautiful Bond. Her true affection is reserved for those who find love and beauty on their own.
Blood-Filled Vial	See Keepsakes from Olympians	From Ares; you share a Blood-bound Bond. Some of the strongest kinships form during the darkest of circumstances.
Adamant Arrowhead	See Keepsakes from Olympians	From Artemis; you share an Impenetrable Bond. Her solitary nature and her sharpened instincts means she seldom dares to share her trust.
Overflowing Cup	See Keepsakes from Olympians	From Dionysus; you share a Jubilant Bond. Two free spirits, though far apart, still can brighten each other's days.
Lambent Plume	Gain +1/1.1/1.2% Dodge chance and move speed each time you quickly clear an Encounter.	From Hermes; you share a Quicksilver Bond. His carefree nature and his haste never betray his true capacity.	While equipped, a circular timer is visible over keepsake's icon. This indicates time left to clear the room and earn the bonus. The amount of time the keepsake gives to clear an encounter varies from room to room. Infernal Trove fights do not give credit. The only Temple of Styx rooms that give credit are the final Encounter of each Satyr Tunnel. Survival Encounters do give credit, despite the Lambent Plume not appearing to be active. Wearing the Plume unlocks access to Rush Delivery, Greater Recall and Bad News without needing the prerequisite Boons. The additional dodge chance and move speed will be lost if the Lambent Plume is unequipped
Frostbitten Horn	See Keepsakes from Olympians	From Demeter; you share a Nurturing Bond. Aeons, generations, distances; family can withstand them all.
Cosmic Egg	Enter Chaos Gates without losing . Blessings from Chaos have +20/30/40% chance to be Rare or better.	From Primordial Chaos; you share an Infinite Bond. Even the Origin of All Things seeks to know whimsy and surprise.	Also increases the chance of Epic boons by +15% and Legendary boons by +10%
Shattered Shackle	Your Attack, Special, and Cast each deal +50/75/100% damage while not empowered by a Boon.	From Sisyphus; you share a Rock-Solid Bond. If he can hoist a boulder on his own, he knows he can be of some support.
Evergreen Acorn	in the final encounter in each underworld region, take 0 damage the first 3/4/5 times foes hit you.	From Eurydice; you share an Inspiring Bond. Singing for the joy of it, she lives for the moment, even in death.
Broken Spearpoint	After taking damage, become impervious to damage for 1/1.25/1.5 sec. Refreshes after 7 Sec.	From Patroclus; you share an Enlightened Bond. He passed bitterly from mortal life, but with you, rose above it all.
Pom Blossom	After every 6/5/4 Encounters, gain +1 Lv. (a random Boon grows stronger).	From Persephone; you share a Growing Bond. The dead live on in the underworld, and her nurturing instinct there also thrives.	Infernal Trove fights do not count toward Pom Blossom's Boon levels. Individual chambers of each Satyr Tunnel in the Temple of Styx do count for Pom Blossom. Pom Blossom is not affected by Sweet Nectar. Boon levels gained while the Pom Blossom is equipped will not be removed if the keepsake is unequipped.
Sigil of the Dead	Your Call becomes Hades' Aid , which briefly makes you Invisible; your God Gauge starts 10/20/30% full. Stealth Damage Bonus: +50/75/100%	From Hades; you share an Intractable Bond. The feared and distant Underworld King knows that his hardest work is still ahead of him.	Hades' Aid counts as a boon and can be upgraded, but maxes out at Epic rarity. The Sigil of the Dead cannot be equipped if another god's Aid has been chosen. While Invisible, Zagreus cannot be targeted, moves +50% faster, and deals bonus damage for 2 seconds (or until he strikes). At Max Gauge, Zagreus turns Unseen instead of Invisible, increasing bonus damage to 5 seconds and not expiring when Zagreus strikes. Activating the Call removes all of the effects: Styx Poison Gorgon Petrified Hit Stun due to self damage by Hazard Bomb Charmed Chill Wringer's grasp It also removes Hades' Skull Casts from the ground, but not the Boiling Blood debuff. The Sigil is one of two Keepsakes that can only be acquired after finishing the main story, the other being the Pom Blossom.

Additional Notes[]

Hades' keepsake, Sigil of the Dead, is unique as his keepsake is obtained on the second gift, which is only possible to give after the completion of the main storyline. It is also the only keepsake to have its slot in the keepsake display case hidden; when unlocked, it appears next to Pom Blossom.

Notes[]

While the guaranteed Boon only works once per run and not per biome, the rarity bonus remains for the entire duration of carrying the keepsake.

Trivia[]

The Black Shawl went through several reworks - in its first version, it allowed you to move through enemies, and in its second version, it restored health when you earned darkness, functioning like the Dark Regeneration Mirror ability.
The Shattered Shackle also went through a rework - its first effect was falling rubble from pillars and traps dealing more damage to enemies.
Some of the keepsakes have references to real life mythology;
- Myrmidon Bracer - the Myrmidons were the group of soldiers Achilles commanded during the Trojan War. It is also the only Keepsake with a negative effect, itself referencing Achilles' heel.
- Black Shawl - Nyx is often described as using one whenever she brings forward the night sky.
- Pierced Butterfly - butterflies are associated with Thanatos. Furthermore, purple butterflies in specific symbolize death.
- Bone Hourglass - a possible reference to how Charon was some times said to be the God of Time instead of Chronos.
- Owl Pendant - an obvious reference to Athena's sacred animal, the owl.
- Eternal Rose - roses are a flower associated with Aphrodite.
- Lambent Plume - Hermes is often depicted as having a winged Helmet (petasos) and boots/sandals (pédila).
- Frostbitten Horn - the horn is an item often associated with Demeter.
- Cosmic Egg - an actual item in Greek Mythology associated with Chaos.
- Evergreen Acorn - acorns come from oak trees and Eurydice is an oak nymph.
- Pom Blossom - flowers that eventually turn into pomegranates, a fruit heavily associated with Persephone.
The design of Ares's keepsake, Blood-Filled Vial, interestingly has the House of Hades symbol on it.
