Gorgons are monstrous, floating severed heads with snakes for hair. They shoot slow, seeking projectiles that will temporarily petrify Zagreus on contact. These projectiles can be deflected to petrify other enemies.

'...As the immortal ichor of the most infamous of gorgons spilled from her severed head into the earth, it trickled down into the Underworld, and spawned a brood of vengeful offspring. Their passions include searing heat, for their own blood runs cold, and petrifying anything with eyes. They even petrify themselves when sufficiently endangered, returning to the earth, to begin again their vicious cycle.'

- Gorgon was introduced in the Chaos Update, and is one of three head enemies introduced in this update, the others being the Megagorgon and Skull-Crusher.
