The Erymanthian Boar is a Warden encounter in the City of Ephyra.
Combat[]
The Erymanthian Boar is a semi-Guardian encounter, having a large health bar with a nameplate along the top of the screen instead of being a unique Elite enemy.
- Ground Pound: The Erymanthian Boar slams its head on the ground, creating a large shockwave.
- Charge: The Erymanthian Boar charges in a straight line, damaging Melinoë if it hits her. If the Boar hits a wall then it will be briefly incapacitated.
- Back Kick: The Erymanthian Boar uses its back legs to kick Melinoë if she is behind it.
- Reinforcements: During the fight, Shamblers will start spawning.
Vow of Shadow: If the Vow of Shadow is active, then the Erymanthian Boar will be accompanied by 3 smaller shadow versions of itself perfoming the same attacks. These copies have armor.
Book of Shadows Entry[]
'While it drew breath, the massive beast earned widespread notoriety even before it became the subject of an impossible hunt. Who but Heracles himself could have taken such a thing alive?
But, being mortal, it did not remain alive for long. What lasted much longer was its rage, for captivity brought out a truly monstrous quality in an already savage beast'
Trivia[]
- The Erymanthian Boar was killed by Heracles as part of his Fourth Labour.
- It is the fourth monster that Heracles has faced that appeared physically in person, the other three being Cerberus, the Bone Hydra and the Bronzebeak
