Diamond

Diamonds are one of several Artifact currencies that can be earned within the Underworld. Along with Titan Blood and Ambrosia, they are a resource obtained via bounties. They can be used to purchase higher tier upgrades from the House Contractor, such as a Music Stand for listening to music, progressing character favors, or bonuses for picking up resources in escape attempts.

'Among the hardest, most bedazzling of substances born underneath the earth, the diamond nonetheless has somewhat of a stately manner, colorless and stoic next to all the multicolored stones with which it coexists. But what it arguably lacks in outward beauty it makes up for with its uses in the sprawling industry of death which Master Hades oversees. Within the Master's House, the diamond always holds a special place; its hardness, helping excavate the stone and carve out all the likenesses and monuments encapsulating many ages past; its shimmering facets, hewn a certain way, absorbing little bits of light that can remind even an ancient shade of what it meant and what it means to live.'

Diamond Uses

Diamonds are used to:

• Purchase Work Orders from the House Contractor (52 )

• Purchase decorations from the House Contractor (28 )

• Purchase music for the Music Stand (67 )

• Purchase ranks from the Resource Director (10 )

Purchasing every single thing from the contractor and fully upgrading your rank requires 157 .

Obtaining Diamonds

Diamonds are earned through 7 sources:

• Defeating the Bone Hydra for the first time with each weapon (6 )

• Bounties for defeating the hydra for the first time with each weapon at each heat level up to 20 heat (120 )

• Rewards from the Fated List of Minor Prophecies (33 )

• Trades with the Wretched Broker

• Charon's Shop in the Temple of Styx

• Fishing in Greece or the final boss area

• Dropped from Poseidon's boon Sunken Treasure (0.03% chance)

A total of 159 can be obtained through defeating bosses and fulfilling prophecies from the Fated List.

The Wretched Broker can be used to buy Diamonds through:

• Repeatable Trades: 1 for 500 , or 50 or 10
• The limited time offer of 1 for 100 or 1 .

Occasionally, 1 can be purchased from Charon's shop in the Temple of Styx for 1000 (or 800 if Zagreus is in possession of a Loyalty Card.)

Finally, 1 may be obtained by catching trout, either in Greece or in the final boss arena, and trading it to the Head Chef.
